Danvers — Charles Leonard Toomey, 84, peacefully passed away on June 19, 2012, in his home. He was the husband of Anne (Clasby) Toomey, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on February 12, 1928, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Hayden) Toomey. He was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School in 1946. Charles went on to Northeastern University where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He had been employed as an electrical engineer for Raytheon for many years in the Missile Division. Charles had nine U.S. Patents and two Trade Secrets. He also taught electronics at the Northern Essex Community College in Andover for many years. Charles also enjoyed spending much of his time in the garden.
