LOWELL – Charles E. “Charlie” Farr, 75, of Lowell and formerly of Arlington, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 6, 2012 following of a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Agnes A. (Langone) Farr to whom he had been married for 54 years. He was born in Medford, MA on July 8, 1937 and was a son of the late Irving and Roberta (Lawrence) Farr. He received his education in Somerville schools and was a graduate of Somerville High School. Charlie served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was employed for 18 years by Doble Engineering Company in Watertown. Earlier in his career, he was the owner and operator for many years of Furniture Refinishing in Billerica. In his free time Charlie enjoyed cooking, playing golf, photography, traveling, and boating, but above all else he treasured time spent in the company of his loving family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Carolyn Smith and her husband Michael of Chelmsford and Richard Farr and his wife Linda of Windham, NH; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle, and Kaitlyn Smith of Chelmsford and Jason and Jessica Farr of Windham, NH; his brother, George Farr and his wife Judith of Bedford, NH; and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD, on Sunday from 1:00 until 4:00 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to The Jimmy Fund, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
