Charles L. Maxfield, 47, of 215 High St. in Lee, died Sunday at Soldier On Assisted Living in Pittsfield. He was born in Pittsfield on August 7, 1965 the son of Eileen Maxfield and the late Hayden Maxfield. He was educated in the Lee schools and was a graduate of Lee High School. He served in the U.S. Marines Corps in the 1980s. He was a self employed painter and enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Adirondacks. He was a member of the Adoration Society at St. Mary’s Church Besides his mother of Lee he leaves his sons Charles H. and Christopher J. Maxfield and his daughter Katie A. Maxfield all of Pittsfield; three brothers Geoffrey H. Smith of Lee, Timothy J. Maxfield (wife Vicki) of No. Adams, John Helwig of Auburn, Indiana; one sister Suzanne M. Finch (husband Terry) of Apex, NC. , as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Vicki Forfa of Pittsfield. The family expresses deep gratitude to the veterans and the organization of Soldier On. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Friday morning at Nov.16th at 11am at St. Mary’s Church in Lee.
