Charles P. “Charlie” O’Keefe
Retired Boston Edison Mechanic

TEWKSBURY: Charles P. “Charlie” O’Keefe, age 81, a Tewksbury resident for 22 years, formerly of Somerville, passed away at home, with his family by his side, on Saturday, July 21, 2012.
He was the beloved husband of Lucille (Frederick) O’Keefe who passed away on February 22, 1968 and Marylou (Burlamachi) O’Keefe, who passed away July 17, 2003.
Born in Somerville on June 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Patrick O’Keefe and the late Julia (McCarthy) O’Keefe.
Charlie was raised in Somerville, attended Somerville High School and graduated from Somerville High School in 1949.
Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. Charlie was awarded several decorations for his military service including the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Occupation Medal (Germany).
Prior to his retirement in 1993, Charlie worked as a Mechanic for the Boston Edison Company for over 38 years.
He was a member of the Dante Club of Somerville and the V.F.W. Logan Post of Somerville., where he served as Past Commander.
Charlie was a communicant of Saint Dorothy’s Parish in Wilmington.
He is survived by three sons, Paul J. O’Keefe and his wife Nancy (Moran), Peter M. O’Keefe and his wife Kim (Anderson), and Michael P. O’Keefe all of Tewksbury; five daughters, Marylou E. Ross and her husband Michael and Judith A. Hanson all of York, ME, Jean M. Whitman and her husband Al of Myrtle Beach, SC, Patricia E. Lydston, Carol A. Marquis and her husband Thomas all of Tewksbury; one brother, James O’Keefe and his late wife Marge of Tewksbury; twenty-one grandchildren, one great grandchild, also many nieces and nephews.
Charlie was pre-deceased by one brother and four sisters.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 24, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will be held Wednesday, July 25, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St., Rte. 38, Wilmington. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Tewksbury Community Food Pantry, 999 Whipple Road, Tewksbury, MA 01876.

Armand Charles Louis Duhamel, 69, of Marlboro, formerly of Hudson, died on Tuesday, Sept. 25th at MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham, surrounded by his loving family.
Armand was born and raised in Lowell, son of the late Existe and Alice (Grenier) Duhamel. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Vietnam Veteran. Following his service in the Navy Armand resided in Hudson and has spent the last 30 plus years in Marlboro. Armand took great pride in his occupation as a machinist, a job he truly enjoyed and was currently employed by the J & J Machine Company, LLC of Marlboro and he also owned and operated the former Armand’s Pub in Hudson for 5 plus years. Besides being an avid hunter, enjoying the seasonal hunting trips to Maine and his love of riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, he was well known and appreciated for spending his spare time assisting his family and many friends with their various projects. He was always willing to lend a hand. He was a member of the Hudson Amvets, member of the American Legion in Marlboro and the Marlboro Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl J. Brady and her husband Ed of Westboro; his son, Michael A. Duhamel and his wife Dara of Acton; his five grandchildren, Kelly, Brenden and Cormac Duhamel, Alexys and Abigail Brady and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Estelle (Durden) Johnson of Southboro and was the grandfather of the late Adryanne Brady who died in 1994 and brother of the late Jeannette Corey and Therese Hebert.
Family and friends may attend calling hours on Saturday, Sept. 29th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29th at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Charles D. Severance, age 57, of Woburn, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Winchester Hospital after a lengthy and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Born in Stoneham, Charles was the son of Marion (Costello) Severance, formerly of Woburn, and the late Robert H. Severance Sr.

Chuck was a graduate of Woburn High School, class of 1973. He was the former president and an owner of Severance Trucking Co., in Dracut, MA, working for the family business for 35 years. Until recently, Chuck worked for the Dept of Defense at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford. He also enjoyed his position at Winchester Hospital as a part time bus driver and volunteered in the radiology dept.

During his life, Chuck enjoyed spending many vacations at Walt Disney World. He was proud of the fact that he brought each of his grandchildren there for their first visit. He also enjoyed taking many road trips to Branson Missouri and Amish Country with his loving wife Barbara.
Chuck served as a member of the Woburn Lions Host Club and Woburn Lions Breakfast Club. He was also a longstanding member of the First Congregational Church of Stoneham, serving as a Deacon Emeriti.

Charles was the beloved husband of Barbara (Nickerson) Severance with whom he celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary this past June. Devoted father of Mandy B. Sawicki and her husband Darren, Susan Machnik and her husband Jonathan, all of Woburn. Loving Gramps to Caleb & Molly Sawicki and Madelyn & Jillian Machnik. Brother of Kathryn Boyd of NH, Robert H. Severance Jr. of Woburn, and Clyde J. Severance of Reading. Son-in-law of the late Barbara (Hollis) Nickerson & Herbert B. Nickerson.

A funeral service will be conducted in the First Congregational Church, One Church St. Stoneham, Wednesday October 3rd, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. WOBURN Tuesday Oct. 2nd, 4 thru 8.

Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Charles J. “Chuck” Goodrow, Jr., 80, a longtime Shrewsbury resident died Monday, October 1, 2012 in his home with his loving family at his side. Charles was born and raised in Worcester, a son of the late Charles J. Goodrow, Sr and Mary (White) Goodrow. He attended the Worcester Schools. He married the love of his life, Eva Lipkavich on February 11, 1956. Together, they made their home in Worcester for many years before moving to Shrewsbury 15 years ago.

Family was very important to Chuck. Besides his beloved wife, Eva of 56 years, he leaves a son, Kenneth Goodrow and his wife, Charlene of Whitinsville; two beautiful grandchildren, Mary and Alexander, whom he loved so much; a sister, Marilyn Sturgis, of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews. Chuck was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy (Goodrow) Buxton.

Chuck worked for B.F. Marsh in Worcester as a salesman. In 1950, he proudly entered the United States Marine Corp as a fifth generation Marine. After serving his country with the United Stated Marine Corp in 1952, Chuck returned to work as a machinist until his retirement. Photography was a great passion of Chuck’s. He enjoyed taking long scenic drives which allowed him the opportunity to take many memorable photos. Chuck also was an avid Patriots fan.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mr. Goodrow’s family on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 4-7 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. His funeral will be on Friday, October 5, 2012 from the funeral home with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton.

Mr. Charles B. Schneider, Jr., of Raynham, died Tuesday, October 16 in Morton Hospital following a battle with cancer. He was the loving companion of Tracey Costa of Taunton. He was born 49 years ago in Princeton, N.J., the son of Charles B. and Inge (Nauert) Schneider, Sr. of Stephens City, Va. He was educated in Millburn, N.J., graduating from Millburn High School and received his B.S. in Geology from the University of Delaware. He was employed as a Senior Project Manager for URS Corporation, Boston for 10 years. He was previously employed as a geologist for a number of firms in New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island. Charles was a member of several Historical Preservation organizations. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton. In addition to his parents and his companion, he leaves: 2 brothers: John E. Schneider of Florham Park, N.J., and Paul C. Schneider of Stephens City, Va.; 1 nephew: William Schneider; 4 nieces: Emily, Julia, Audrey and Lena Schneider; a dear friend and former spouse: Shyama Khanna of Boston, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Jude the Apostle Church, 249 Whittenton Street, Taunton, on Friday, October 19 at 11:00 A.M. Bradford, MA. — Charles E. “Chuck” Maroun, 71 of Bradford died on Monday October 15, 2012 at his home. Mr. Maroun was born, raised and educated in Lawrence and has lived in Greater Lawrence all of his life. He attended Mass School of Pharmacy where he was president of his class. Before retirement he worked for many years as a computer specialist at Raytheon Company in Andover. He also served as union representative at Raytheon. Chuck was at one time a harness race driver at Rockingham Park. He was a member of St. Anthony Church, Lawrence.
